VDU

VDU is the short form of Visual Display Unit. VDU is commonly used to output display. VDU displays images generated by a computer or other electronic device. Like computer monitor. It can also refer to another type of display unit such as a digital projector. Visual display units also peripheral devices.
Early time VDUs were primarily cathode ray tube (CRT) displays. Today, growth in Liquid Crystal Display (LCD), plasma, and Light-Emitting Diode (LED) technology, manufacturing large screens is much more cost effective than before. It is sometimes referred to as a video display terminal or VDT.
