Indenting
Indenting means from where you want to begin Line or paragraph of your document. There are almost five types of indentation in the new version of MS office.
1.    First line
2.    Hanging
3.    Left indent
4.    Right indent
5.    Mirror indents
First line and hanging indent
If you want Automatically intents pressing the tab key before starting a new paragraph. For that you need to make some changes in paragraph menu.
You can follow this guide make some changes in Paragraph for MS Office 2007, 2010, 2013 and newer version.
Setting Paragraph in Word 2010, 2013 and newer version
Go to Home Menu
1. Select Home tab in the ribbon.  you can see “Paragraph” group in lower right corner.
2. Click on arrow. Then window open new dialog box.
3. There, you can found in the “Indents and Spacing” tab.
4. Click the drop down Icon which is underSpecial” and choose “First Line” or "hanging". Now automatically indent the first line and hanging of each new paragraph.
5. Then go to under the "By" box type (0.5” or 1 more size which you want to create indent. 0.5 inch is the standard indent size.
Click OK to save your changes. 
Note: If you cancel your setting, click Cancel Button or if you want to set the changes to automatically for new documents Click on “Set as default” button.
Left and Right Indent

 

1.     First, click Home menu and click on “Paragraph Setting” Small icon.

Then windows open new dialog box.

2. In the dialog box choose “Indents and Spacing” tab.

Then set the value for the left and right.

3. Then Click “OK”.

we can do this from ruler like following
Or select “Page Layout” tab and set the value for the left and right.

Short cut key of indent 
· Indents for paragraph = CTRL + M.
· Removes an indent for paragraph = CTRL + Shift + M.
· Hanging indent = CTRL + T.
· Decreases a hanging indent = CTRL + Shift + T.
